Lesson 7: Get Social

Nearly 59% of Americans engage with brands on Social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).

So it goes without saying that social media can be high-engagement platforms if your ideal customer is active on them and you can commit to posting on a regular basis.

Some best practices are:

  • Respond to comments and DMs promptly.

  • Make posts interactive (polls, quizzes, contests)

  • Talk about trending issues in your industry, so that content is valuable and not just about your products

  • Comment on posts that are relevant to your market

  • Follow people back who follow you

  • Consistency is key – scheduling posts can help. If you set aside an hour a week to schedule posts, it can become more manageable.

Action Items:

  1. Use the $1.80 Instagram Strategy

    • Leave your “2 cents” on the top 9 posts within 10 relevant hashtags

  2. Create one weeks' worth of social media posts
