Lesson 8: Measuring Engagement

Whenever you can, it’s a good idea to ask customers the simple question, “how did you hear about us?” Depending on your business, you can track this through your point-of-sale platform, or just on a piece of paper that sits beside the main office phone.

Other metrics that can provide you with good information as you analyze the success of your customer engagement efforts are:

  • Which web pages produce highest ROI

  • Most visited pages on website

  • Repeat visits to your website

  • Average time on pages

  • Click-through rates and bounce rates

  • Which social media posts perform the best

  • Number of comments on your posts

Action Steps:

  1. Use Google Analytics to identify:

    • Your most visited website pages

    • Bounce rate (the number of visitors that leave your site after one page)

  2. Use Facebook for Business to identify what posts perform the best for your business
