Lesson 7: Tried and True - Email
Many businesses have begun spending large chunks of resources on modern marketing mediums, but you shouldn’t lose sight of one of the most effective ways to reach/engage your customers - email.
Did you know that email marketing still generates $36 for every $1 spent? Targeted email campaigns can drastically increase customer engagement if your target market reads email on a regular basis (and with 4 billion daily users, there is a good chance that they do).
Some email best practices are:
Create interesting subject lines
Make sure your format is mobile friendly
Offer something of value in the email, whether that’s a coupon, advance notice of a sale, or something else.
Newsletters can be a good way to engage customers – just be sure they are relevant and you send them out on a regular basis.
Drip courses (like this one that you signed up for) can engage customers at a high level if you have content that is valuable to them.
Thank you emails, along with a link to review your product or service, are always a good idea.
If you sell online and have the capability on your website, cart abandonment or recovery emails are a nice way to remind customers to finalize a purchase they were considering.
