Set Your Small Business Apart with SWaM Certification Live Event in Radford

Are you a small, women-owned, or minority-owned business that wants to do business with the government, the Commonwealth of Virginia, or local government (s)? Join us for a live event on Tuesday, October 24 to learn about how to become SWaM certified.

Small business owners who are looking to diversify their revenue (B2G = Business to Government) are encouraged to participate in Virginia’s specialized procurement and contracting opportunities are encouraged to become SWaM (Small Woman and Minority) certified. The SWaM certification is a vehicle to promote the economic growth of Virginia’s businesses.

Becoming SWaM certified is just the first step in doing business with the Commonwealth.

This workshop will cover:

  • an overview of the SWaM Certification process

  • Required documents needed to apply

  • How to use the certification to do business with the Commonwealth (intro to eVA, Virginia’s Online Procurement Portal)

  • How to do business with Radford University

Guest Speakers: Ramain Gohar, Business Service Manager (Central-West Virginia), Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity and Radford University’s Procurement Team
